Papercrafting

Card Class Day today so I thought maybe a little project would make a change from card making, and I have to say the girls have been thrilled to bits with their little bit of storage. What do you think?

I think my old Weetabix box looks really good in it's new clothes.  I'm using mine to store my Cuttlebug embossing folders as they fit perfectly and afterwards I'm making a couple to put my crafting Cd's in. They look far nicer on the shelf than old shoe boxes.

The insides are made from envelopes! It's so neat and really quick to make. We had great fun coming up with ideas to use them for. I think I might put tabs inside so I know where each folder is.

I have used linen papers from the Papermania Signature collection, my Spellbinder nesties and some perfect gingham ribbon from my stash.

Thanks for looking,

A Tri-fold Mans Card

Yesterday I made this tri-fold card, I made a scrummy one with the girls a few weeks ago and still love the wow factor, so after the girls went home I carried on making more. With so many sides to decorate it's easy to make luscious girlie cards but whilst I sold every card I made, as fast as I made them, I did notice that the husbands of my customers were very impressed with the engineering side.
So I made one for a man.

Ohh I forgot to say perfect for using up scraps of paper!!

So I used a digital download from Cuddly Buddly called All Mine the cute character is called Furgus Macfluff, designed by Pachela Studios. He's been coloured with promarkers cut out with nesties and then pierced.

I've kept the decorating quite simple and masculine, no flowers but buttons, a few Spellbinder shapes cut from bronze mirror card  and the happy birthday font is a download from Pink Petticoat  (my handwriting is not as interesting!)

I'm hoping to enter this card into THE SECRET CRAFTER SATURDAY CHALLENGE set by Wendy. Have a great Sunday Hugs Dea xx

Scraps of Black and Ivory

Ok so this will be my last all spellbinders card, because hopefully I'll be out of hospital today yea hey! Gonna get my man to stop off at a craft shop on the way home whilst he's feeling sorry for me.I'm hoping to pick up half a dozen Tim Holtz distress inks as I haven't got any yet." Haven't got any distress inks" I hear you say, well you'll be amazed at what I haven't got !This Blog should be called how to make Cards on a budget of zero; although if you spoke to my husband he would say I've got loads of stuff but he's a man and what does he know about the needs of a paper addict!
My last fortnight challenge to myself has been to make cards without using the printer and using scraps only! It was really difficult at first and for an hour I thought I'd lost my mojo but I flicked through the net as you do and soon had some ideas that got me started. (when I workout how to do it, I'll share my favourite sites with you)
I made my card from various scraps of ivory and black card cut with a range of spellbinder dies, a piece of Pink Petticoat paper which I'm sorry to say is probably unavailable now  and some handmade roses.
I challenge you to use your scraps for a week and give your printer and purses a break lol . Hugs Dea xx

Thursday 12 April 2012

Didn't post yesterday as I went to hospital for a check up and got admitted! What a shock, no lap top for a whole day!! Luckily Geoff  bought my lap top and we have wifi today hence my post of a card I made a couple of weeks ago.
It's a big card  because of the big spellbinders die used centrally. I drew around the die with pencil and cut it out to act as a base and then mounted the die cut onto this. The zig zag is the waste you have when cutting out two boarders.
It's finished off with a huge bow of random scrap box ribbon, handmade roses and a couple of hat pins.
Just needs a box now :D Enjoy  Hugs Dea xx

My First Post

Well here goes, my first post and anyone that knows me will be aware that me and computers are not a match made in heaven. So please bear with me whilst I get to grips with this.
After 7 years of card making and following loads of other blogs I'm taking the plunge and joining in with the world of blog challenges that's if I manage the uploading and links and gadgets and........

Today I'm sharing some cards I made with my girls at my weekly card class. Every thing is made using cuttlebug embossing folders and spellbinders dies. We made the roses and the stamped sentiments are from Cuddly Buddly one of my favourite online shops.
Thanks for looking Dea
